Marie works concurrently as a graphic designer for University Communications at the University of Notre Dame and as an assistant professor in the department of Art, Art History and Design. She graduated with an M.F.A. from the University Notre Dame in May of 2012. Her thesis work, titled “The Fierce Cosmetics Campaign,” focused on the discrepancy between idealized images of women in cosmetics advertising and the ugly reality that many beauty products contain harmful chemicals as ingredients. Before attending graduate school, Marie worked as an associate art director at Peter Mayer Advertising in New Orleans for three years. During that time, she designed for local and national clients such as Luzianne Iced Tea, the Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans, and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, earning recognition from the New Orleans Ad Club and Effie Worldwide on a number of projects. She received her B.A. from Loyola University New Orleans with a focus on graphic design and communications.
