MFA student Benjamin Funke in Chicago exhibition

Location: ACRE Projects (1913 W 17th Street) Chicago

MFA Benjamin Funke will be in an exhibition with Tony Balko at ACRE Projects in Chicago. The exhibition of nine analog projections will open on July 1.

ACRE aims to offer each of its 70+ summer residents an opportunity to present new projects stemming from their time spent at ACRE’s summer residency program. ACRE’s own 400 sq ft storefront gallery space, ACRE Projects located in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago hosts weekly exhibitions along with numerous other local galleries and alternative spaces in Chicago. Each resident is given the key to the gallery for one week and has the opportunity to experiment with the space. Many artists will use this opportunity to mount a solo show, a sought-after opportunity rarely afforded to emerging artists. Others will be able to join up with fellow residents and combine their allotted times to mount small, longer running, self-organized group shows.

ACRE Projects (1913 W 17th Street) will host an opening reception just about every Sunday evening, 4-8pm and exhibitions will be open for viewing on Mondays from noon-4pm.
