Symposium on Contemporary Sculpture

A symposium on the topic of contemporary sculpture is being organized in conjunction with the art exhibition ND Alumni: Sculptors and Professors.

A reception and gallery talk will be held in the South Bend Museum of Art on Friday, September 19, with the artists whose sculptures are on view at that venue.

The symposium continues at the Snite Museum of Art on Saturday, September 20, with an 11:00 a.m. keynote presentation by noted art historian and author of Sculpture Today, Judith Collins. Internationally acclaimed sculptor Tony Cragg will give the second keynote presentation at 2:00 p.m., followed by a 3:30 p.m. panel discussion. The symposium ends with 5:30 p.m. gallery talks by the ND Alumni artists whose sculptures are on view in the Snite Museum of Art galleries, and a reception until 6:30 p.m.
