University of Notre Dame Painting and Drawing Professor Jason Lahr had his first solo museum exhibition this summer at the Zuckerman Museum of Art at Kennesaw State University.
Dealing with the intersection of art, technology, and popular culture, Professor Lahr's work fragments of written narrative interact with imagery from gaming and other aspects of our digital culture, both new and old. He engages with popular culture, including video games, through a wry sense of humor and sensitivity to the uses of narrative and acculturated mythologies as his artwork delves in to various aspects of cultural identity. Alongside the exhibition, Professor Lahr has curated a show of video works–Parallel Tales–that engage similar issues.
The exhivition was presented in collaboration with the Kennesaw State University Gaming Department.
