Coleton Lunt

Biography

Coleton Lunt was born in southern Utah and received his B.F.A. from Northern Arizona University. He served two years as a resident artist in Seattle where he refined the craft of wheel thrown pottery. He received his M.F.A. from the University of Notre Dame where he explored ceramic sculpture. After a residency in Kansas City, he was invited back to Notre Dame as a Teaching Scholar for the ceramics department. He now dances the line between pottery and sculpture. His work can be found at Culture Object, New York; Belger Crane Yard Gallery, Kansas City; In Tandem Gallery, Bakersville; and Cerbera Gallery, Kansas City. His work is reminiscent of desert landscapes and celebrates craft traditions by blending a broad range of techniques developed throughout history.
