Evan Hume
Teaching Scholar & Gallery Coordinator, Photography
Biography
Evan Hume's work has been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Evan's practice focuses on how photographs circulate, transmit information, and transform over time through processes of reproduction. Over the last several years he has worked with obscure photographs obtained from Freedom of Information Act requests and publicly available declassified documents from government agencies, exploring the aesthetics of concealment and the limits of photographic legibility. Through the physical and digital disruption of these found images, historical fragments are visualized in a state of flux, open to reconfiguration and reinterpretation.
