Jason Lahr solo exhibition and artist lecture

Location: Fort Worth Contemporary Arts

Jason Lahr’s solo exhibition It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time opens Monday, September 28 at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts in Fort Worth, TX. There will be a reception from 5-7pm.

On Tuesday, September 29 at 1pm, Lahr will give a lecture about his work in 200 Moudy Building North, Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, TX.

Jason Lahr’s paintings are a mash-up of popular culture imagery, casual quip texts, and a diverse deployment of painterly styles including hard-edge bit-like abstract, exacting trompe l’oeil, and the crude styles of metal band logos. The juxtaposition of these elements elicit narratives from a generation caught somewhere between the raw energy of an area rock show and the cool indifference of the screen age.

Jason Lahr received his M.F.A. in drawing and painting from Penn State University and his B.F.A. in painting from Clarion University. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Painting at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, IN.
