Elyse Speaks is an art historian who specializes in modern and contemporary art.  Her general interests include contemporary sculpture and installation, contemporary women artists, gender studies, media studies, materiality, and the politics of value.  Recent publications include articles and essays on the work of Karla Black and Liza Lou.
