Claudia Bernardi conducts an Artist Talk & Discussion on her latest collaborative project: Walls of Hope/African American Elders Share Memories of Integration during the Civil Rights Movement in the 60’s a Collaborative and community based project with students of Mary Baldwin College, African American elders from Satunton, West Virginia, and the School of Art of Perquin, El Salvador.
Bernardi is an internationally known artist who works in the fields of art, human rights and social justice. In her work over the past two decades –she has combined installation, sculpture, painting, printmaking, and most recently, she has focused her art praxis in community and collaborative art projects working with/ and in collaboration with communities that have suffered state terror, violence and who are victims of human rights violations.
